Marinelligasse 13-15

Vienna

The Marinelligasse project consists of four former properties which have been merged. In the Marinelligasse 17 and the Schweidlgasse 20 the existing Gründerzeit houses were extensively redeveloped and the attic was extended in each case. On the property parts Marinelligasse 13-15 and Schweidlgasse 18 new buildings were erected for the most part. In addition, an underground car park with over 40 parking spaces was built.

The City of Vienna (WWFSG 1989) made use of subsidies for the renovation and new construction. A total of 55 apartments with attractive furnishings and 40 parking spaces were built. The two existing buildings at Schweidlgasse 20 and Marinelligasse 17 were comprehensively renovated to protect their substance. In both houses the attic floor was extended, both houses received an elevator as an extension. All vacant apartments were renovated and raised to category A. New buildings were erected on the property sections Marinelligasse 13 - 15 and Schweidlgasse 18. Each building wing received an elevator from the cellar to the top floor. The street facades of the existing buildings worthy of preservation were restored and all metal sheeting renewed. The unstructured facades on the street and courtyard sides were insulated by applying a full thermal insulation facade and all new buildings achieved low-energy house standards. The newly created large inner courtyard was completely greened. The property Marinelligasse 13-17 is centrally located in a good middle-class location, in the 2nd district of Vienna (also called Leopoldstadt) close to the centre, near the large area of the Vienna North Freight Station, which is developing into a new attractive district of Vienna.
