Foundation stone laid for PURE residential and commercial project at East Side Gallery
Berlin, 23.08.2019 - The PREMIUM project PURE on Mühlenstraße in Berlin-Friedrichshain is starting construction work. In the presence of construction and housing policy spokesman Christian Gräff (CDU) and around 80 invited guests, the managing directors of property developer PREMIUM Immobilen GmbH and marketer ZIEGERT - Bank- und Immobilienconsulting GmbH ceremoniously laid the foundation stone for the building that closes the last gap in the East Side Gallery.
The 185 apartments in total will have 1 to 4 rooms with 30 to 134 m² living space and offer an unobstructable view of the Spree from the 2nd floor onwards. PURE - the first joint project of PREMIUM and ZIEGERT - is the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle of the newly built quarter around the Mercedes-Benz Arena and creates living space only 10 minutes away from Alexanderplatz. Werner Höft, Managing Director of PREMIUM Immobilen AG, praised the extremely rapid progress of the project: "This property was not acquired until 2017. The first apartment was already sold in August 2018, the foundation stone is now being laid here and the first residents will move in as early as summer 2021. "He also emphasised the good and efficient cooperation with the players involved: the architect Hemprich Tophoff, who was responsible for the design, the housing company Schrobsdorff Bau AG, which was commissioned with the construction work, and the marketer ZIEGERT. "Without this wonderful cooperation, we would not be at the point we are now at today". The invited politician Christian Gräff, building and housing policy spokesman as well as regional chairman of the CDU/CSU in Berlin, was impressed by the "mega-speed" with which the project is progressing from purchase to laying of the foundation stone "despite a partial lack of support from politicians for property developers" and explained how important the private sector is for housing construction: "90% of all building projects are carried out by the private housing sector, only 10% by the public sector".
Sven Henkes, managing director of ZIEGERT -Bank- und Immobilienconsulting GmbH, praised the inspiring cooperation with PREMIUM, which began at an early stage of project development, and underlined the special and historically significant location of PURE: "30 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, PURE creates a space of peace at a dynamic and transforming location. Every day, buyers will enjoy a unique view of one of the most visited galleries - the East Side Gallery - and the Spree. "The architecture, designed by the well-known Berlin office Hemprich Tophof, reflects the proximity to the water with its wave-like natural stone façade. The floor plans are functional and compact, the three furnishing lines modern and high-quality. All apartments have at least one loggia, balcony or terrace; apartments with 2 balconies are already in the portfolio from the 2-room category onwards.
A further highlight of PURE is the 500 m² garden courtyard in the centre of the ensemble - an oasis of peace, which promises relaxation at this historical and lively location near the former course of the Wall. But PURE will offer even more to the residents: The concierge in the future entrance lobby will take care of everyday tasks - for example, table reservations in one of the nearby trendy Friedrichshain or Kreuzberg restaurants.
After one year of distribution, 78 apartments have already been sold and 23 reserved. The much-noticed project at Mühlenstraße 20-23 is scheduled for completion in August 2021.
