The person responsible - either the property manager or the owner of the property - has possibly installed video surveillance for the purpose of protecting the property of the houses, fulfilling traffic safety obligations, contractual liability towards customers, etc., as well as for the purpose of prevention, containment and clarification of criminally relevant conduct as far as the area of responsibility of the person responsible is concerned, with exclusive evaluation in the case defined by the purpose. The legal basis for any video surveillance is our legitimate interest, namely the protection of property (Art 6 lit f DSGVO), but also the performance of road safety obligations, contractual liability towards tenants and the security of our tenants (Art 6 lit b DSGVO).
 
There is a right of objection against the processing of the data. However, it is to be assumed that in the context of a weighing of interests after the objection, the interest of the person responsible for the protection of the property (see purpose) outweighs the interest of the persons concerned whose data are collected, in particular due to a possible encryption as well as the fact that an evaluation only takes place in the event of a cause. Video surveillance takes place in order to protect the property and the rights of the person responsible.
 
The data are stored in principle 72 hours, in the case of occasion for the duration of the completion of the procedure.
 
The person responsible may pass on the data to the relevant competent authority or court (to preserve evidence in criminal cases), security authorities (for security police purposes), courts (to secure evidence in civil cases), employees, witnesses, victims (in the context of asserting claims), insurance companies (exclusively for processing insurance claims), lawyers, courts, authorities and other bodies for the purpose of enforcing the law.
