For the ninth time already, Vienna can claim the title "Most livable city in the world". The Mercer Study has once again elevated the Austrian capital to first place. Zurich - in second place - is only just behind Vienna, but has never managed to overtake it in the past ten years.
Public utilities were rated positively. Criteria such as health care, waste disposal, schools and public transport each received the highest number of points. The low crime rate and nationwide factors such as political stability, police and international relations were also rated positively. The housing market and the availability of consumer goods also received the highest scores.
