New study: Berlin is one of the most liveable cities in the world

Once a year, the British magazine "Monocle" publishes its ranking of the most liveable cities in the world. On the list published in the July/August issue of the magazine, Germany, with Berlin, Hamburg and Düsseldorf, ranks sixth, eighth and 18th respectively, better than any other country.

In addition to classic quality of life - such as public transport, education system, health care, green spaces or crime rate - the magazine also examines business climate, gastronomy and retail according to its criteria for the "Quality of Life" survey. The "Monocle" list is one of many studies that examine the quality of life in cities. This year - for the ninth time in a row - the consulting firm Mercer, for example, ranked Austria's capital Vienna first. Munich was ranked third there. With "Monocle" it is the other way round: Munich on one, Vienna on three. (BLZ/dpa)
