New Building

Goldschlagstraße 2

Vienna

The Goldschlagstraße project consists of an ensemble of five Stilzins houses and a plot of land with a total land area of around 3,700 m². The buildings built around 1900 are characterised by the preserved facades and classic old style apartments with large windows, high ceilings and parquet flooring. Together with the general parts of the house, these were extensively renovated to protect the substance. On the property Neubaugürtel 15 a high-quality new building was built.

For the renovation and new construction, subsidies from the City of Vienna (WWFSG 1989) were used. A total of 140 apartments with attractive furnishings ranging in size from 30 m² to 100 m² as well as four shops were built. An underground car park with 26 parking spaces was built in the spacious inner courtyard. The buildings comprise two green inner courtyards with a total area of approx. 1,000 m2. The combination of the modern and high-quality attic construction with the classical style old buildings below creates an impressive architectural overall picture. The six properties merge to form a harmonious whole. By merging and completely redesigning six individual properties, valuable living space with a high quality of life is created in a central location. The Goldschlagstraße project received positive support from the district and funding agency during more than two years of project preparation and also during the construction period, because it represents what constitutes good urban housing: New attractive apartments with high living quality thanks to loggias and green inner courtyards, a central location from which workplaces, educational facilities, leisure and shopping facilities can be reached comfortably and safely even without a car.

The project was completed in autumn 2018 and was occupied by the tenants from November 2018.
